It is an afternoon, not an event
Henna takes hours to apply and hours more to dry. Nobody arrives at a start time and nobody leaves at an end time — guests drift in across a long window, sit for a while, and stay because leaving is inconvenient with wet hands. That is a completely different brief from every other function in a wedding week, and it is why a mehendi planned like a reception always feels slightly wrong.
Take the smaller room
A mehendi rarely fills a hall at any single moment, because people come and go all afternoon. Book a room for your total guest list and you will spend the day looking at empty chairs. We suggest the Ground Floor for most mehendis — 150 to 200, the whole floor yours, at street level. A room that feels full at two in the afternoon is worth more than one that could have held everyone at once.
Nobody can use their hands
It sounds like a small thing and it is the single most common way the food goes wrong. Half the room cannot pick anything up, and a seated meal with cutlery is useless to them. We do not provide catering, so the menu is yours to build with your own caterer — around what works one-handed, or what somebody can feed to somebody else, served across the afternoon rather than in one sitting. The booking runs a full 24 hours, so serving in waves costs you nothing. Just have this conversation with whoever is cooking.
Bring your artists, we will build the room around them
Tell us how many mehendi artists are working and roughly how long each guest will be seated, and we will lay the floor out around the queue rather than around a dining plan. Comfortable seating in the right places matters more than a centrepiece on this particular day. The building runs on 50-ton air conditioning, which is not a luxury when people are sitting still for three hours in a Kolkata afternoon.
On price. It depends on the floor and the date, and your own caterer quotes the catering separately once you have decided how the afternoon is fed — so there is no single number worth printing here. There is a designated smoking area, and alcohol can be served where you arrange the licence.

How long can a mehendi run?
Longer than most functions — that is the nature of the day. The 9 AM to 9 PM on our Google profile is when you can reach us to enquire, not a limit on your event. Tell us the window you want and we will confirm it for your date.
